Gone are the days when one would queue up at the nearest government banks like the SBI (State bank of India) for paying their taxes.
Citizens are already fed up with the no-responsibility kind of attitude by the staff of the government banks. Citizens need to fill a challan and pay taxes; if the payment is made in cheque, then one need to visit the bank again to collect the acknowledgment. The most difficult part is finding the acknowledgement and in few cases you actually find it. With the arrogant staff attitude and the mismanagements it is not difficult for a challan acknowledgement to get misplaced.
Now you may ask when you pay tax why do you need a challan acknowledgement?
You need the acknowledgement which you need to attached when you file your income tax in India. Blame it on the government way of functioning, but once you pay your taxes the government logically should get all the details just punching your Pan or Tan Number. Either the government does not want to work or there is no such system, either way it is the poor Indian citizen who have to go through all the mess. So much for paying Tax!
However there is hope.
