CEO (Suhas Gopinath) may pay for road rage

Suhas Gopinath, the youngest CEO in the world, may land a prison term of three years or may be asked to pay a penalty for an act of road rage on Ugadi Day.

The youngest CEO of the world, now 22, may not have bargained for this when he hit a motorist in a fit of road rage.
Well, a three-year simple imprisonment must have been last on Suhas Gopinath’s mind on that fateful Ugadi day, when his driver Nagesh rammed his car into another vehicle, in which Rajni Balaji and her daughter, residents of Sadashiv a Nagar, were traveling. After the accident, which happened on April 20 near Mehkri Circle within the RT Nagar police station limits, Suhas along with his driver allegedly abused the two women and assaulted the daughter, receiving a slap in return.
“Within a minute after the argument broke out, Suhas assaulted Rajni’s daughter and was slapped in return by Rajni,” said an officer of the RT Nagar police station, based on the complaint filed by Rajni.
“Rajni allegedly slapped Suhas on his face. In connection with this case, we have registered a complaing and are investigation it,” he told Bangalore Mirror on Sunday.
“We have investigated the accident site. It clearly shows that Suhas’ car had violated traffic rules and rammed into Rajni’s car. But we have also registered a counter complaint from Suhas,” said the officer.
Suhas has alleged that he was provoked by the duo while hurrying for same urgent work. He also alleged that the complainants were trying to extort money from him.
Suhas both the accused and the complainants are from the upper case, chances were that they many not go for compromise, opined the officer.
“I have been trying in vain for a compromise. We are likely to file a chargesheet in a couple of days, may be within this week itself,” he added.
If the charges are proved then Suhas may land in prison for three year or may be asked to pay a penalty.
“This is just a petty offence. The punishment may go upto three years of simple imprisonment,” says Anne Gowda, Senior Public Prosecutor and the Deputy Director for Prosecution
Speaking to Bangalore Mirror, he added, “However the amount of penalty depends on the judge, the judge may impose a fine of may ask them to compromise.

Customers purchasing bicycles are now required to deposit ID proofs

Buying the cheapest mode of transport in India, the bicycle will not be as easy as before. Customers now need to prove their identity before they can buy. An identity proof, address and telephone number is now mandatory in Varanasi.

The police have told the entire bicycle seller in Varanasi to note down the identity and address proof on their cash memo. As usual there are mixed reactions to this new method which is similar to buying a mobile phone SIM card.

Bicycle traders have already started complaining that most of the customers are from rural areas and it would be a joke to ask the farmers for proof of their address. But the fact is traders evade tax by selling bicycles without bill, with the new method they would be forced to issue bills there by getting the transaction taxable.

No matter from where the farmer comes from every house has an address. If people vote then the definitely have an identity. When people staring in rural areas afford a mobile phone, having an identity proof should not be an issue.

Well anything is possible in India thanks to corporation. Getting a fake identity proof is easier. Along with the identity proof if any the photo graph of the customer buying along with his thumb impression especially in the rural areas could make it difficult for terrorist to acquire bicycle.

This may not be a fool proof method but definitely offer some resistance. It is for the welfare of the Indian Citizens and their support is necessary.

A Senior Inspector said
“There’s no law that one must show proof of identity to buy a bicycle, but the traders have a responsibility to see they sell the cycles to the right people”
